Robert A. Vena, L.Ac., MSTOM

Rob is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the States of New York and New Jersey. He is Nationally Board Certified in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine.

Rob completed the intensive 4-year Master of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine program at New York City's Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM-NY), and his training included: Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tui Na Chinese Medical Massage, Qigong, Taiji, Anatomy, Physiology, Western Disease Diagnosis, Eastern & Western Nutrition, and hands-on treatment of over 300 patients in the school's award-winning, on-campus acupuncture clinic.

During his clinical training at the PCOM-NY Clinic, Rob worked under the guidance of experts in both traditional Oriental healing techniques and current Western medical practices, treating patients suffering a wide variety of conditions with acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, Tui Na Chinese medical massage, gua sha, cupping, dietetic and lifestyle counseling, and Qigong exercise consultation.

Background

Rob spent 4 years living and working in Asia, and his time there sparked an interest in Eastern philosophy and Chinese martial arts. This, in turn led to his study of Chinese Medicine. He reassessed his life priorities, turned his back on a successful career in Corporate Information Technology, and set out on a new course; following his true passion of helping others to experience a balanced state of health and wellness through the application of this incredible, ancient medicine.

Rob is a veteran of the United States Navy, in which he served for 6 years. After graduating from the Defense Language Institute’s intensive Russian Language Studies program, he went on to serve as an airborne crypto-linguist for the Naval Security Group. He is also a graduate of the Chubb Institute’s Computer Programming School, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Nyack College.
